You are invited to explore the ancient practice of tai chi this Fall in a 6-class weekly series, Thursdays on the Terrace overlooking Elm Street at the downtown branch of The New Haven Public Library. The series starts Sept. 15 and is provided by Kathleen Brenner.

Classes are designed for adults at a beginners level, or as a refresher for those with some knowledge of tai chi. Participants will learn a ten form set of Yang style tai chi derived from the Yang style 24 form. The 24 form is the most widely practiced form in the world, typically what persons in China and Japan practice in the parks and sidewalks in front of their apartments each day. Participants can expect to have the sequence of movements memorized well enough by the end of the series that they can practice this short set on their own.

Kathleen BrennerKathleen Kathleen Brenner has practiced Tai Chi and Chi Kung since 1989,  winning several gold, silver and bronze medals in international competitions, and has taught both disciplines to hundreds of people of all ages over the last 15 years. Click here for more information.

Space is limited and the series fills up fast! Registration is required. Classes are held rain or shine (indoors in incelement weather).

A $20 series fee will be collected at the first class to cover costs of instruction.
